Keep Cruel Traps Illegal in Massachusetts

Massachusetts law bans the recreational use of the notoriously cruel leg-hold trap, which became law by a vote fo the people in 1996. However, two bills would overturn the ban, and your help is needed to protect wildlife for this cruelty that violates Jewish teachings, and is already banned by most countries in the world (including Israel).

Please call, write, fax and e-mail your state representative immediately to urge them to "Please vote NO on H. 4283 and H. 200." You can identify your representative and find out how to reach him or her at www.wheredoivotema.com or simply by asking us at [email protected].

Proponents of the two bills claim they are the answer to public safely issues, and that they help towns prevent flooding attributed to beavers. Fortunately, there are scientifically sound and affordable alternatives to trapping that would mitigate beaver-attributed flooding. These solutions do not involve using indiscriminate traps. 89 other countries ban the traps and manage just fine.
