Help California's Pregnant Pigs and Veal Calves!
A
bill just introduced in California would prohibit the cruel confinement of pregnant
pigs and veal calves, both of which spend their lives in tiny crates too small
even to turn around in, causeing tremendous frustration and psychological suffering.
A.B.
732 would require that these animals have enough room to turn around freely. This
bill builds on the passage of such a law for pigs in Florida in the November election,
and the near passage of a veal crate ban in New Jersey this year. This bill would
not only prevent extremely cruel treatment of thousands of animals, but also protect
the state from the environmental damage caused by the factory farms that use such
intensive confinement methods.
If you live in California, please
contact your state legislators and ask them to "Please support A.B. 732 to
prohibit the cruel confinement of pregnant pigs and veal calves." Please
tell everyone you know in California to do so as well. This could be a watershed
for similar progress around the country.

legislators are and how to reach them, look them up on Congress.org,
